2018 GENEROSITY NEW JERSEY 5K

Essex County Family Justice Center

Took home a slew of medals and raised critical funds to serve victims of domestic violence in Essex County

Clark, NJ - June 10, 2018 It was a cool but comfortable morning with a slight mist of rain in Oak Ridge Park, New Jersey. One by one, a dedicated and determined group of friends of Essex County Family Justice Center-- including staff, trustees, donors, partners, and members of the Essex County VOICES Chapter-- arrived at the park, pinned on their racing bib, and assembled at the starting line.

When the starting horn went off, Essex County Family Justice Center's team crossed the line. Some walked, some ran, and some ran really, really fast around the 5k course as it wound through the beautiful grass and wooded areas of Oak Ridge Park. By the time everyone crossed the finish line, Essex County Family Justice Center's team had not only won the lion's share of top finisher medals, they had also combined forces to raise over $10,000 to support the agency's comprehensive and coordinated services for victims of domestic violence!
